  • What equipment is needed and is it included in the price of the lesson?
Winterproof clothing (snow pants and jacket), ski/snowboard boots, skis/snowboard, possibly poles and a helmet as well as gloves are required for the lessons. Helmet and gloves are always mandatory to wear! We recommend changing your clothing depending on the weather (thick/thin gloves, scarf/balaclava, ski goggles, ...).Equipment is not included in the lesson price and cannot be rented from us. Opposite the office of the skischool is the sports shop Malbun Sport, where all equipment can be rent.
  • Is the lift ticket included in the lesson price?
No, a lift ticket for the Malbun cable cars is not included in the lesson price. This can be obtained from the Sareis and Täli stations (during the main season also in the Schneeflucht). No lift tickets are required for beginners in the Kinderland and Malbi Park. Children up to the age of 6 travel free on the mountain railways, but still need a lift ticket, which can be obtained at the stations mentioned for a deposit of CHF 5.-. For more price information (www.bergbahnen.li).
  • Does my child need ski poles?
We recommend sticks of Blue Star/Red Prince level and above. In consultation with the ski instructor, these can be used from the Blue King. Skiing with sticks represents an additional coordination challenge for the children. If they already have a good level of skiing, it will be easier for them to ski with sticks.
  • How does the division into groups work?
In the group lessons and the Saturday courses, there is division on the first day for all children who are already intermediate in skiing. The division takes place at 9:30 a.m. in Malbi Park. All children have to queue up for the small lift there and then ski down the slope as best they can. The ski instructors waiting below will divide the children into groups according to their ability. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, we ask parents to wait at the Malbi building or behind the groups and not between the groups and the instructors. The division can take up to 30 minutes depending on the number of groups. The Malbi-Park meeting point is only valid on the first day in the morning. The courses always end and start at the meeting point opposite the Hotel Gorfion.
  • What do I have to do with the ski school tickets?
Only children in group-, Saturday- and babycourses need a ticket from the ski school. This is a piece of paper on which the phone number of the parents, the name of the child, etc. is written. In any case, this ticket must be handed in to the instructor at the beginning of the course. For courses booked online, the printed payment- or course confirmation should be brought with you (online confirmation on the mobile phone is not sufficient).
  • Is it possible to only attend a half-day group course?
No, a half-day course is not possible in order to keep the difference in level in the group as small as possible. The children are constantly learning new things. If a child misses half a day, it is possible that they will not be able to keep up in the coming days. However, the baby course can only be booked for half a day and only for 3-year-old children.
  • Does the reference person in the baby course need ski equipment?
No, we only recommend winter clothing (snow pants and boots). Ski boots and skis are only needed for the child.
  • Do the parents have to be present at the baby course?
Yes, the baby course is a parent-child course. For this reason, a parent of the child must be present on all three days.
  • Is it possible to pause the group lessons or start later?
Yes, but this is only possible for intermediate groups (not for beginners). After consultation with the office and the instructor, you can pause for a maximum of one day. If half a day is paused, this cannot be taken into account in the price. If a day is paused, it is possible that the child will have to switch to a weaker group the following day due to the missed learning progress. If a child only joins on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, we recommend a private lesson beforehand in order to be able to assess the child's level. In this way we avoid the child being divided up into different groups several times.
  • Can the group lessons be attended on any day of the week (Mon-Sun)?
No, the group lessons take place from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The baby course takes place from Monday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. We recommend attending the entire course in order to achieve maximum learning results and to avoid subsequent group transfers.
  • Is it possible to park at the meeting points?
There are no direct parking facilities at the meeting point and at Malbipark. At the Täli Kasse, you can load and unload within 15 minutes and there are all-day parking spaces at the Schneeflucht. In addition to the paid parking garage, there are also many other free parking options in the ski area.
  • Is the start and end meeting point of a course always the same?
Yes, for group courses this is always the meeting point opposite the Hotel Gorfion. In the case of private lessons, the start and end meeting points are basically the same. However, this can be arranged individually with the snow sports instructor. At the Täli Kasse meeting point, the lesson must end 10 minutes earlier because our instructors have to return to the meeting point of the skischool for their follow-up lessons.
  • What are the cancellation conditions?
If the class is canceled by 4pm the previous day, there will be no additional charge and a full refund will be given. In the event of cancellation at short notice, the full price will be charged, as the ski instructor cannot be booked elsewhere. If the guest himself finds a replacement person of a similar level for the hour already booked, there are no additional costs and the hour can be attended normally. We ask for your understanding, as some of our instructors have a long journey to get here.
  • Are the snow sports lessons designed for children or adults?
The majority of our guests are children. However, our instructors are trained to teach children and adults.
  • Is there a ski race?
Yes, every Friday there is a ski race for the group courses. At the beginning of the course in the morning, the groups do the ski race on slope number 1. Groups that started in the children's area on Monday the race takes place in Malbipark. Parents and relatives of the children can watch the ski race from the edge of the slopes and cheer on the children. The award ceremony will take place at 3:45 p.m. at the meeting point of the skischool. We ask the parents to watch from behind the barrier. The race of the Saturday course takes place on the last Saturday at the same times as in the group lessons. The babycourses' race takes place on Wednesdays during the babycourse.
  • Which languages do the instructors speak?
Our instructors speak dialect, German and English. Depending on availability, some also speak French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Russian, Portuguese, Czech and Chinese. The group courses are taught in Swiss German or German. Most of our instructors also speak English. If instructors with special language skills are required, this must be requested from the ski school office.
